| Albert Pujols, who won three MVP awards and two World Series championships while crafting a St. Louis Cardinals legacy to rival Stan Musial, left the reigning champions of baseball on Thursday morning and signed a 10-year, $250 million contract with the Los Angeles Angels, according to a person involved in the negotiations. The person requested anonymity because Pujols must pass a physical for the deal to be final. It will be the third-largest contract in baseball history to Alex Rodriguez's two 10-year contracts, the first for $252 million with the Texas Rangers in 2000 and the second for $275 million with the New York Yankees in 2007. |
