Gingrich Takes Georgia, Exit Polls Say
Newt Gingrich has won his home state of Georgia, according to surveys of voters, giving him an early Super Tuesday victory in a state he had promised to win.
Mr. Gingrich had bet his campaign on winning in Georgia, which he represented for years in Congress. The former House speaker campaigned for several days in the state and had hinted that it was a must-win for him to continue in the presidential contest.
